Vets from the surrounding area will be at Redfish Bay Boathouse on Conn Brown Harbor beginning Friday, May 19 when registration begins at 5:00 p.m. The teams will be on the water Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. or later if they sleep in.
The opening ceremonies Friday evening are open to the public. The Veteran’s Band will perform from 5:30 until 6:45 and honor each branch of service through music. Following the invocation, presentation of colors and National Anthem, Congressman Blake Farenthold will welcome everyone to this special fundraising event.
Vets Fishing with Vets is an annual event held by the Spirit of Aransas Pass, a non-profit organization. Funds raised by this event are donated to the Fisher House of San Antonio, local veteran organizations and local veterans in need.
Weigh-in for the tournament begins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and ends at 4:00 p.m. Awards will be made beginning at 4:30 p.m. This is also open to the public. The teams appreciate an audience as they bring in their catch and wait to see who wins what award.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m. is the by ticket only VIP Dinner Dance and Concert. Rip Tide will be performing from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.. Landsharks will take the stage from 8:00 until 10:00 p.m. with live and silent auctions going on during the evening.
