Connie Hagar Cottage Sanctuary held a Ribbon Cutting Friday, May 26 to celebrate the new landscaping by Master Gardeners and new signage by Friends of Connie Hagar and Aransas Pathways.
Located at the corner of South Church Street and East First Street, the 6.25 acres is a mixture of oak motte and native grasses. Trails wind through the plants and flowers which invite birds and butterflies. An observation platform is located close to the East First Street entrance. Parking is allowed along the street by this entrance and in a small parking lot off South Church Street.
Saturday, May 27, beginning at 9:00 a.m., “Coffee with Connie” will be held at the Connie Hagar Cottage Sanctuary. Visitors will learn about Connie Hagar while enjoying coffee and doughnuts. “Friends” will be there to answer questions during the morning walk along the trails.
