Ingleside on the Bay’s new eatery

My Coastal World has a new look and is beginning a new outreach to followers to become part of the MCW Team. As the communities recover following hurricane Harvey, many new businesses have emerged, and others have given themselves a new appearance while offering different goods and services. The new category of “businesses” will include small local stores, eateries and lodging options. Followers may suggest their favorite places to shop, eat or stay in Portland, Gregory, Ingleside, Ingleside on the Bay, Aransas Pass, Rockport or Fulton. Business will be chosen for a feature based on a story which will interest North Bay residents and visitors.

Ingleside on the Bay (IOB) is the smallest community in the North Bay and has a very small commercial area. One of those areas is Bahia Marina and IOB residents are so happy to have their own eatery, Dock Store. Located in the center of the marina on the edge of Ingleside Cove, customers enjoy a water view while enjoying their food and beverages on a covered patio.

Mia and Ronnie Tamez brought their family and energy to IOB as the damaged dock store has been guided back to life following the hurricane damage.

The menu selections are limited but customer comments range from very good to rave reviews. Open six days a week, (closed on Wednesday)

breakfast tacos are served from 6:00 – 10:00 am. They open again from 3:00 – 9:00 pm. offering Juicy homemade hamburgers and hand-cut fries and hot dogs.

Tuesday evenings the menu for Taco Tuesday includes beef and/or chicken fajita nachos and Thursdays the hot wings are served. Cold beverages including some favorite beers are always available. The morning coffee pot is invariably on, but if you want a latte just let Ronnie know.

He described his specialty as served with two shots of expresso and an in-house milk that is sweetened. The milk is steamed and frothed to 155 degrees then the latte is served at the perfect temperature for drinking.

Dock Store opened its doors the first part of June. Now they can be found on Facebook as Dock_Store and can be reached by phone at 512-507-9634. To find them by vehicle, follow Highway 361 south from Ingleside. Immediately past Ingleside Cove Park, turn right on any of the streets entering IOB. Continuing through the curves and turns of the residential streets, you will reach Bayshore Drive which is along the edge of La Quinta Channel. By following Bayshore Drive to the north you will enter Bahia Marina and leave the rest of the world behind.

Now, MCW readers and followers, add a comment with the name and location of a favorite eatery you feel deserves to be featured. Share your knowledge with others.
